I chose this photo because this is a traditional dish prepared by Filipinos during Lenten season. Lumpiang Hubad is a Filipino vegetable dish with many variations. In Tanay, Rizal, it has a garlicky peanut sauce with carrots, sweet potato, long green beans, cabbage, tofu, and singkamas. Lumpiang hubad is a staple dish in Pabasa as well as in the observance of Linggo de Lazaro. A week before Palm Sunday, families would usually prepare this dish and have it blessed by a priest in the church patio. Distribution of food in the barangay then follows.
For me, this dish symbolizes the Catholics devotion and the value of sharing one’s blessing to others.
